PTL

ptlPurpose

The PTL (Parent Teacher League) is a service organization established to plan activities that bring families together for fun and fellowship, encourage and support teachers and staff and strengthen the relationship between home, school and church. The PTL also funds special purchases for the school through fundraisers and freewill donations.

Membership

All parents/guardians, teachers and staff of First Lutheran School are members of the Parent Teacher League.

Structure

A Leadership Team sets the overall plan for the year and provides guidance for key committees. A request goes out for parents/guardians to act as committee leaders to help coordinate specified events or activities. These events range from Teacher Appreciation lunches, Fantasy of Trees, Silent Auction, Family Fun night, etc.

Meetings

The Leadership Team meets during the week to outline upcoming projects. If the project warrants it we then ask for volunteers to form a “committee” to complete the project. Sometimes we “grab” whoever happens to be around at the time. A need is a need….helping on a small event (as our Grandparents Hospitality table) or a large event (Silent Auction in the Spring) is helping. We appreciate willing hearts and hands!
