Building Faith…One Child at a Time
I have no greater joy than to hear that my children are walking in the truth. (3 John:4)
Our 2009-2010 school theme is Building Faith…One Child at a Time. The illustration depicts how the church, home, school, grandparents, alumni, and the community of believers work together in a family atmosphere to help a child grow and develop their faith.
The bottom represents the tap root of the Holy Spirit growing deeper in faith. It also shows how that faith branches off to create a stronger hold in the word. It is this area that really makes the education at First Lutheran School unique. At First Lutheran School we expand, enhance, and reinforce the work of the church through the congregations.
God may have blessed a child academically. The nutrients the children need to develop this gift are at First Lutheran School. Or the child may be blessed in athletics; again, the nutrients needed to grow that gift are here. Basically almost any gift God has given to a child can be nurtured and tended to at our school.
It is important that this “root” system is developed deep and wide. In this way children learn to relay on God when life’s storms his. At First Lutheran School we educate for the future and beyond!

Gym is Looking Up
Thanks to a generous gift from an alumnus, First Lutheran’s gym ceiling has been cleaned up and repainted white. It is a remarkable improvement to the facility. Next time you’re in the gym, look up, and thank God for the help He provides through gifts like this one.
Additionally, First Lutheran Church hired Keith Denton to repaint the gym exterior. What a great improvement!
Parking Lot Repaved
Have you noticed the newly repaved and repainted parking lot for the school? We love it. Thanks again to our anonymous alumnus who donated funds for this project. And thanks be to God!
Energy Conservation
First Lutheran Church and School entered into a contract with Energy Conservation Consultants, Inc. (ECC) in order to help First Lutheran save money on the energy bill and be good stewards of the resources and environment God has provided us on earth. ECC installed new lower powered, yet higher output lights all over the school and plan more work for this fall and winter.
